Since I am asking you to read my ramblings, I figure it is only fair that I tell you a little bit about myself, the girl behind the ice cream. I'm Shira, a 26-year-old graduate student studying public health and social work, living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. As a public health student who is well versed in the dangers of eating too much sugar, I do my best to eat ice cream in moderation, though I don't always succeed. I am passionate  about everything that involves dogs and ice cream, neither of which are related to my graduate studies. I love to travel anywhere and everywhere, and I always test out the ice cream wherever I am. I grew up in the D.C. area and returned  after college for a few years before moving to New York. Please don't ask me what my favorite ice cream flavor is because I won't have an answer for you, though all Ben and Jerry's flavors have a special place in my heart. One day, I hope to experiment in creating my own ice cream flavors, but because I live in New York, a city notorious for it's small apartments and teeny kitchens, I have no room for an ice cream maker which makes me very sad.

While I promise to do my best to talk mostly about ice cream, I will likely talk about other deserts here and there. Thanks so much for reading my blog, please feel free to comment and leave suggestions in the comments section, or to e-mail me directly using the form below.
